Well the black hen, "Henny" left after all. She stayed over 24 hours but I think what she thought was a lack of nests made her leave. Although I DID set up a nest she didn't know what it was. I couldn't catch her a second time to put her in it so she'd figure it out. I was a bit sad when it got quiet out there and she was just gone. But Chris said maybe she'll come back with some friends. She was just a visitor renting a room for the night. This got me thinking about chickens again though. I miss having hens and would love to have a beautiful hen house and a safe yard for them to play in. I would probably had had hens sooner but again our yard is not set up for it anymore. The next major home repair we need is all new fencing. I went on My Pet Chicken's website and was looking at the lovely "designer" breeds. The minimum has gone up unfortunately. You could order as a few as 4 chicks for my area. But now they are making 8. I've had 8 hens before but I dont' want that many again. I want four. I don't know if Mike could take the extras. Some of the breeds I want are expensive as far as chickens go too. Usually a chick costs around 4 dollars for normal breeds at most. "Expensive" ones used to range around 12 dollars. But now the ones I'm looking at are whopping $32!! Still nothing compared to parrots. I paid a lot more for Nautica my parrotlet. Still chickens should be cheap and it's hard to accept a chick costs as much as the shipping, assuming that hasn't changed. But that's a long ways off. I'd have to build the fence first then a coop. The shed is falling apart from the rotten foundation.

Today is a half day. Bugs me Chris's boss always gives him one call on Sundays. Super rare we get the whole Sunday without requesting it. But today we should be able to finish the last vinyl panel. I'm so happy with the progress on the patio. Just in time for the next cold front we're getting. This one won't be as bad as the last one. Last time we had two nights at 30. This time it will be in the 40s so that means the greenhouse will be around upper 50s. I have very few plants that get sensitive and don't like it below 60s. Those can easily come inside. I'm still looking back on 2020. It was a great year. I got all that cool lighting for my birthday. But I still need more. Valentine's Day is the next big holiday. I'm looking forward to that. I think I'll start to decorate now for it. I like to at least change out the table cloths. I might put all the wire shelves out on the patio actually. I would like to get cabinets in dinning area and set up a coffee bar on a pretty blue cabinet.

The only annoying thing is I am waiting on a nepenthes bicalcarata to come in the mail. I ordered it for Christmas and it was shipped Dec 22. It was supposed to arrive Dec 28. It's been delayed and I take that to mean it's lost. I hasn't arrived yet. Not the seller's fault I know. We're still giving it til tomorrow but even if it comes now I think I'll be getting my first dead frozen plant. Bicals are those ultralowlanders that are super finicky. They get cold in the 60s like I do. Even if the package turned up I think it's a lost cause. Of course this is all the fault of the stupid plandemic forcing business to have less staff instead of more staff and going about business as usually. Christmas is the worst time for all post offices to be under staffed.

Yes I am. Here's where you can see how your scored last year on how many posts you made.

But LJ needs to get rid of like. No one cares. I sure don't. Glad they are not on my journal. I write for ME, not anyone else's pleasure. That is the reason why so many idiots don't understand why I never leave sites and keep posting even if no one is commenting. Ha!
