Baby Birds

I have been real busy. Emma laid more eggs but did it again. The first baby died. Only three other eggs were good. I pulled the other baby and the two eggs. First baby was a lacewing. I'm sick of the losses. Second baby is a lacewing. My older baby is a lacewing but also a spangle so her pretty tan dots are diluted and basically gone. You can only see some on her wrists in certain lights. I'm very mad at Emma for being a crappy mother. But I hatched one egg. I think the last egg died in the shell. It was due the 7th and I'm still waiting. Eventually I'll open it to find out what color eyes it would have had. But raising day old chicks is aweful. I feed once an hour almost round the clock. I usually go to bed at 9 or 9:30 but been staying up til midnight. And I did it every hour the first night. Can't. So I'm doing it every two hours at night. 2 am, 4am, 6am and 8 am. That 4am feeding is the worst. This is the first year that I actually want a Mother's Day gift. The babies are now 6 and 4 days old. I can't wait til they are older and I can reduce the feedings. Maybe remove the night feedings. The oldest is starting to look like a parrot. But yeah this is rough. I hope she's not a spangle lacewing. I want a true lacewing that will look like Bullet. Well I can't do much else now. All my other projects are on hold. I can't even go out too far because of the babies needing me every hour. I want to go to two plant nurseries this week but well I can't. Luckily there are the regular stores close by my house like Lowes, Walmart etc.

I'm kind of annoyed by websites right now. LJ forced me to change my password by threatening to take my account if I don't. It's not true that passwords because easier to hack if you don't change them. If you pick a hard one, mainly a long one, time does not make it easier to guess. It's not easier now than it was 10 years ago. I hate that. I use ad blockers. I'm sick of yahoo mail asking me to disable it. No I got one specifically for emails because I hate ads and they have no right to force them on me. I will always use them and it's why firefox is my fave browser. I see no ads anywhere else I go and any site that asks me to disable and won't let me see I just won't use. Screw you. I've been pop up blocking since 1997. It won't be ending anytime soon.

I don't use sites that make me turn off my ad blocker either. Sometimes I will turn it off just to read one article and then turn it back on. I didn't know pop up blockers existed back in 1997. I started using one when I kept getting viruses on my computer from sidebar ads. I'd been blocking pop ups since I started using firefox.

I'm glad I haven't been forced by any websites to change my password yet. LJ is a back up for me now. I post on Dreamwidth and have cross posting turned on so my entries go to LJ too. I'm pretty sure Dreamwidth is owned and run by Americans so I prefer it over LJ now.

Yes they started around back during the late 90s. I don't like that LJ is a Russian site. But I don't like that Dreamwidth doesn't have this layout and a few other features. It just seems more primative. Also some friends here like Kabuldur I know never would go over there unfortunately. I do want to change my name to Scary Fear but I'm worried that will mess up the transfer. There's all kinds of issues like if I just get new accounts for both I will lose my permanent member status I have here. And both don't offer permanent accounts anymore.

Oh, I am sorry that you lost that lacewing baby. And what an ordeal to have to look after the babies from day one! May this ordeal soon be over for you.

And grr with lj. I use Firefox and Ad Block Plus. And why should we have to see ads? Haha, you're probably right. I haven't gone over to Dreamwidth yet. I do prefer lj's layout.

Yeah it's been hard feeding them so much and now I'm having some new issues with them. It's so frustrating.

Yes ads suck. There's this mentality on youtube now where people watch the ads to "support" the uploader. NO! When did this brainwashing start? No one makes lots of money on youtube. It's not a job. But yeah there's just a few things keeping me from completely switching to Dreamwidth like the layouts. They have permanent accounts there too but like here they don't offer them.
